Invented in Colombia during the 1990s, you’ll be jiving away to your favourite music using choreographed dance moves that take inspiration from salsa, samba, and mambo dancing. Each class combines these moves with a full body cardio exercise experience to help you reach those fitness goals and have fun while you do it.
In every class you’ll be led by a Zumba expert to ensure you hit just the right beat with just the right moves to groove your way through a muscle toning and cardio strengthening session that engages all your muscle groups. Be exceptional for weight loss. For those on a weight loss journey and are considering Zumba as your class of choice, you’ll be pleased to know an hour session of Zumba can burn anywhere from 600 to 1,000 calories. But just like any fitness class, you only get out what you put in!

One thing we get asked quite often by beginners is what to wear to a Zumba class. Zumba is all about dancing and shaking to the beat as you sweat out those calories. Keep this in mind, as you’ll need to dress for the occasion. Light fabrics such as cotton or mesh are ideal, with comfy shoes that provide plenty of support to the sole of your foot. Try to find shoes without laces, or if you can’t, be sure to tie them tight (with a double knot if needed) to ensure they stay where they are meant to!
