How Does A Les Mills Core class go?

Your Basingstoke Core class is 30 minutes of fitness fun. You'll complete a number of exercises using resistance tubes and weights, plus some great bodyweight exercises to tone the abs and back.

All of the exercises can be modified to suit your fitness level, and you'll have the expertise and watchful eye of your Village Health & Wellness Club instructor to help you perfect your technique.

There'll be a warm up, a series of core exercises to work the abs and back and a cooldown to finish.

Our virtual Core classes offer all the same kicks you'll get from the usual class, just without a Village Health & Wellness Club instructor. 

If you're a Core beginner, we advise taking part in an instructor-led class first, so that we can help you get to grips with the exercise techniques and reduce your risk of injury. 

Les Mills Core For Over 55s

Whilst our Core class is intense, it's limitless when it comes to age! Age is just a number, right?

Whether you're in your twenties or over sixty, our Basingstoke Les Mill Core class will give you a great core workout at your own pace.

If you find certain exercises too challenging, our instructor will modify them to suit you. Feel free to lower the intensity, decrease the repetitions or opt out of using weights.

Strengthening the core muscles can make everyday tasks much more manageable, such as carrying, reaching and bending. Plus, a stronger core makes for better balance, lessening the risk of falls.

Les Mills Core Kit

During your Basingstoke Les Mills Core class, you'll get to grips with using a resistance band. If you haven't used one before, fear not, your Village Health & Wellness Club instructor will show you how it works.

Wrapping the band around your body, you'll perform a number of different exercises to add more resistance as you work key muscles.

Expect to tackle squats, lunges, biceps curls, and shoulder rows, engaging the core all the way through to firm up the abs and back.
