Our Wirral Tai Chi class features meditation, deep breathing and gentle toning exercises for a great full body workout.

During our Tai Chi classes at our Holistic Studio in Bromborough, you’ll perform controlled movements and positions, to build muscle strength, improve balance and increase flexibility.

Tai Chi For Beginners

If you're new to Tai Chi, during your first class at Village Gym Wirral you'll learn the basic movements and begin working on your breathing technique.

Don't worry about getting your positioning perfect, just go with the flow... and get used to moving your body in new ways.

Try to position yourself where you can clearly see your Tai Chi instructor, and your fellow Wirral members so that you can take their lead if you get lost. 

Try This Tai Chi Warm Up

This Tai Chi warm up is an example of how we'll loosen you up before your Wirral Tai Chi class.

Stand with your feet flat on the floor, spaced out a little wider than your hips.

Shake your arms and let them hang loosely by your sides. 

Rotate your hips to the right and left while keeping your arms hanging down nice and loose. As you twist, your arms should flap against your body. If they're not flapping, you're tensing, so let them go nice and limp. 

Repeat for 1-2 minutes or until you feel your body start to relax and warm up.

Do I Need to be fit to do Tai Chi?

Not at all. Our Wirral Tai Chi class is a great workout for all fitness levels, including new gym members and older adults.

If you're a new member, a gentle Tai Chi class is a great way to ease yourself into a new exercise plan. If you're an older member, or have health concerns, we'll adapt the exercises to suit your abilities and comfort levels.

Pregnant? So long as your GP is happy for you to attend our Wirral Tai Chi class, feel free! It's great for strengthening the back to prevent back pain and also helps to align your pelvis. 

Can Kids Do Tai Chi classes at Wirral?

The minimum required age to attend our Tai Chi classes in our Wirral club is 16.

Though, if you have young kids at home, you can teach them some of the basic Tai Chi movements you've learned in class, to help them stay active and flexible. 

Ask your Village Gym Tai Chi instructor which movements are safe for kids and hold your own Kids Tai Chi class in your living room!
