Our Swimtime Swimbabies classes help you feel fully at ease whilst they get to grips with taking a dip. On top of this, bringing them swimming for the first time is a special experience that you’ll likely cherish for years to come.
Perfect for under twos, it's a great class for some bonding time with the baby, as well as meeting other parents. Many of our members plan their swimming lessons with others for a little social time whilst they swim.
Our Swimtots classes are great for kids aged two to four. Focussed on learning through play, your little ones will be introduced to swimming strokes whilst enjoying the feeling of the water and playing games to bring out their confidence.
And, don’t worry, they haven’t grown up too much yet! You’ll be in the water with them too, for plenty of parent/toddler fun!
First off, it’s fun! Children love going to the pool. Whether it be the waterslides at a water park, playing underwater games with friends and family, or simply splashing about, swimming is a great way for children to stay fit and healthy without it feeling like a chore.
On top of it being a great cardio workout to keep your children healthy, a good swim can bring on a brain boost too. Just 30 minutes of pool time, three times a week can improve your child’s sleep patterns, lower stress levels and significantly reduce the symptoms of anxiety and depression throughout their lifetime.
Infant swimming lessons are the safest possible way to let your baby have their first splash in the water. Our knowledgeable and experienced swimming coaches know exactly how to get your child from merely dipping their toes in, to one day gliding the full length of the pool, without pushing them too hard.
Our baby swimming classes will remain small to allow all kids to receive the individual attention they need from our qualified instructors. On top of this, our swimming pools are constantly surrounded by watching lifeguards - so don’t worry, your children are in safe hands.
Our indoor 20m heated pool is the perfect space to learn how to swim or perfect your stroke and underwater breathing.
Plus, if you’re old enough, you can unwind in the sauna and steam room to replenish the dry skin and relax those tired muscles.

Can 1 and 2 year old babies swim?
Although they obviously won’t be able to swim themselves, you're welcome to take your baby for a dip at any time after birth, although most swimming classes start at 6 weeks.
What do you do with a 1 year old in the pool?
When you bring your baby swimming when they are 1, you should definitely not be pushing them to do backstrokes across the water. Instead, it is trying to make them feel as comfortable as possible. Try playing games with them, singing to them, and generally keeping them entertained.
How long can a 2 year old stay in a pool?
Babies lose heat a lot more quickly than adults, so don’t be with them in the pool for too long, especially not from the first dip. We would recommend starting off with a 10 minute session then slowly building up.
Are chlorine pools safe for toddlers?
If you are worried about this, we’d recommend speaking to your baby's GP beforehand. Some babies are at higher risk of asthma and other conditions that could be affected by the chlorine in pools.
Say hello by completing this form and a member of our fitness team will be in touch to discuss adding toddlers or teens to your membership.
