Cold Therapy: It's on its way to you!

Cold therapy, also known as cryotherapy, involves immersing yourself in ice-cold water for therapeutic benefits. This practice has grown massively in popularity over the past year for its impressive benefits, and we’re excited to announce that we’ll soon be introducing it across all of our clubs to elevate your recovery during your fitness journey.

What does cold therapy do:

Cold therapy comes with many benefits mentally and physically. Here are some of the reasons to try it out.

Reduces inflammation: As the bath is so cold it leads to your blood vessels constrict. This helps to reduce any swelling and inflammation that you may have.

Numbs pain: By reducing the nerve activity throughout your body, the cold therapy provides pain relief for post workouts but it also helps conditions such as arthritis. 

Speeds muscle recovery: After a hard graft in the gym, it’s a good idea to put yourself through cold therapy to reduce soreness and promote faster healing so you can get back to training regularly. 

Improves circulation: Once the cold stimulus is removed, the body increases blood flow to warm up the affected area, which may help in delivering nutrients and oxygen for healing.

Boosting metabolism: The cold therapy can help to boost metabolism because your body burns calories in order to stay warm.

Enhances mood and energy: Being exposed to such a cold environment releases endorphins, this leads to an increase in your mood and energy levels. It can also help massively with mental clarity, focus and give you time to make decisions that you haven’t been able to yet!
